Powerlessness and Responsibility—The Dilemma
In 12-Step programs, making amends is important. Step 8 involves creating a list of people we have harmed and being willing to make amends. Willingness is a catalyst for personal growth and responsibility. Making amends can evoke fear, but it is essential to confront shame and acknowledge wrongdoings. Freedom from self-centredness is achieved through recovery from the old life and embracing a new one. This week’s essay emphasises the significance of each step and the importance of mindfulness in personal growth.
The Professor and The Madman
In the epic Penn/Gibson movie “The Professor and The Madman”, Sean Penn’s character receives a note saying, “If love…then what”.
It's a magnificent show to watch, so I will try not to ruin it for you. This question just won't leave my head.
Is love an ending in itself, or motivation?
What shall we do with love?
Is love enough?
And what of Fear?
I have no answers today, for this. The questions are tantalising, though.

Ken Wells explains in this article from Genius Recovery.
Smart Artists
Anxiety and art is an interesting subject. Recently, I have rediscovered the Google Art and Culture App on my phone and I find the instead of scrolling through other people’s opinions and holiday snaps, I could easily spend a happy time learning about and enjoying arty things. Try this and you may be pleasantly surprised.
