This week I have spent the most wonderful time in the foothills of my ancestral wilderness.
The weather was fantastically mild and conducive to my needs. The gardens and the home decor were stylishly simple and yet, magnificent. I had prepared nutritious and flavourful meals to sustain my beloved and I for the retreat, which catered for Her Loveliness’ yoga intensive.
My early mornings were spent lazily wandering the beaches nearby, and most of the days I would simply find things to occupy the mind - a book on the shelves, identifying plants, and nodding off.
By the week’s end, I was nuts.
Why?
I don’t know, but all that peace and serenity drove me to insanity. So, this week, I have simply posted a tremendous article, that I read on holiday, about the beautiful Thay, known formerly as Thich Naht Hahn.
And the graphic After Skool play featuring one of Alan Watts’ best lectures.
I hope you enjoy, and that my sanity is restored by next week.
Namaste.
From Thay With Love
“What does love mean, exactly?
We have applied to it our finest definitions; we have examined its psychology and outlined it in philosophical frameworks; we have even devised a mathematical formula for attaining it.
And yet anyone who has ever taken this wholehearted leap of faith knows that love remains a mystery — perhaps the mystery of the human experience”.

The Tao of Now
Alan Watts is dead.
I am not much better.
Thankyou for your article Mike. It was interesting to read about the different meanings, definitions and interpretations people have of the word love. While watching and listening to Alan Watts talking about letting go of our ideas and expectations of the future, I feel that the concept of love becomes real to me when I am able to be in the present moment. In so doing, my anxiety and fear of life becomes less and I can accept and appreciate everything that is happening therein. 🙏
